On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, members of the LCDPS team got together for mandatory quarterly training. This quarter, the Department focused on airway training and hosted an Airway Rodeo. This was a fun way to do some training while throwing in a little competition with those that wanted to have a little more hands-on training.
We had five (5) EMTs and eight (8) Paramedics participate. Each situation presented had its own level of challenges the competitors needed to overcome.
LCDPS Paramedic Lindsey Yost had the top score for ALS with 10 intubations and a time of 8:18! LCDPS EMT Devon Currie had the top score for BLS with 10 intubations and a time of 9:13!
They both earned a sling pack and “flair”, along with bragging rights of course.
Thank you to all who helped put this together: Captain Elysia Foran, Captain Matthew Cribbs, FF/PM Cody Basham, and FF/PM Shernard Blake.
